Solution Exchange is about collaboration with your peers – virtually
and face-to-face
Virtually. Everyone in a Solution Exchange
Community is subscribed to a mail group moderated by a senior domain
specialist located in a UN Agency, supported by a research associate.
When you have a challenge and would like to hear from your colleagues,
e-mail it to the moderator for posting to the Community. Over the next
1-3 weeks members will respond with advice, experience, contacts or
other suggestions to help you out. Once the query closes the moderation
team synthesizes the thread into a Consolidated Reply – a synopsis of
the responses together with the additional resources recommended
(websites, readings, experts or organizations), for circulating to the
Community.
Three virtual services are:
Help – for members seeking experience and
advice on issues they face
Consult – for decision-makers to get feedback
on draft policies, plans or programmes
Discuss – for brainstorming on key issues of
wide concern to the Community
Face-to-face. Community Annual Forums are
designed to promote interaction and group work around priority issues.
Members build connections and learn more about each other’s expertise
and interests, expanding professional
contacts and opening up collaboration opportunities.
