Solution Exchange is a UN-sponsored space where development professionals with similar interests (“Communities of Practice”) connect to share knowledge and experience towards the common objective of problem-solving.

Communities are organized around national development priorities and the Millennium Development Goals, contributing to their successful achievement. Members come from government, donors, NGOs, academia and private sector, interacting on an ongoing basis to learn, share and collaborate.

With Solution Exchange, development practitioners can proceed with confidence that they are not reinventing the wheel.

What is Solution Exchange? How does it work?

Virtual: Everyone in a Community is a member of a mail group moderated by the  Community’s Facilitation Team, composed of the Community Facilitator and an Young Professional Officer located in a UN Agency. When you face a challenge, e-mail it to the Community. Over a fixed period members respond with advice, experience, contacts or other suggestions to help you out. Once the query closes the discussion and the resources recommended are synthesized into a Consolidated Reply that is circulated to Community members

Face-to-face: Community members meet in annual forums and regional events to interact, learn and make new connections. Members also collaborate on assignments, tapping into each others' knowledge, expertise and different perspectives.
